It was on our Christmas vacation two years ago that Sandra told me she wanted to start a side business and work it a couple weekdays after teaching school and every other Saturday. She wanted to help kids develop healthier and better functioning brains. Our own son had some impulse control and attention deficit issues, and we found the science of neurofeedback to be incredibly helpful. She rented a room from a chiropractor, invested in a license to open a center, got trained, and away she went.
Going through the sale of the company I ran, I helped out where I could. Once my obligations to the buyers were behind me, I went all in. I'm partnered in business with my partner in life. Our enterprise has grown beyond our wildest expectations. We experimented with different expansion models, grew our team, learned a lot, and ultimately gained the confidence to branch out and chart our own course.
After a wonderful and successful partnership with Melissa Hergert and BrainTrain Centers, Inc., to whom we'll always be grateful, we are now BRAINTOPIA Neurofeedback Centers.
We help people of all ages with mental health issues such as anxiety, ADHD, stress, depression, addiction, sleep disorders, trauma, and effects from toxic exposure. We now have 12 treatment rooms across 8 locations in the Dallas area, plus another dozen home units we ship to people all around the country. And, this is just the beginning!

Dave Murcott is the Co-Owner of BRAINTOPIA™ Neurofeedback Centers in Texas and the husband of Sandra Hooper-Murcott. Before joining the BRAINTOPIA™, Dave served as a partner with RealTime Laboratories - an accredited clinical and environmental diagnostic laboratory that specializes in testing for and identifying hazardous toxins and infectious diseases.
